The Children's Service Center of Wyoming Valley is a full-service mental health agency that has been incorporated since 1939; its roots date back to the 1860's. Throughout its history Children's Service Center has been adapting its services to meet the needs of children and their families.
The Children's Service Center offers a full-service foster care program licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Services include: recruitment of qualified homes, screening of foster parent applicants, training, child placement, the monitoring of children in the foster home setting, and support for both the foster children and their respective foster parents.
The mission of the foster care program is to provide foster care services for children requiring out-of-home placement within the community designed to promote the safety, health, and well being of the children.
