Job Summary

The Behavioral Specialist Consultant will develop intense behavioral service/treatment plans including all members of the treatment team. These plans will help the client respond to their daily environment in a practical and productive manner. The BSC will develop, initiate and modify plans as needed to assure progress and success. BSC will act as lead clinician for the team. The behavioral specialist consultant, in collaboration with other members of the treatment team, designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs.


Job Description

- The behavioral specialist consultant identifies behavioral goals, designs behavior management system, and intervention techniques, and recommends noninvasive behavioral change methods. Members of the treatment team and family provide the service directly to the child and/or family in the home, school, day care, emergency room, or other community program or setting. - While maintaining some direct contact with child and family, the behavior specialist consultant provides primarily assessment, data collection, program design and monitoring rather than direct therapy - The behavioral specialist consultant is expected to coordinate & participate in Interagency Service Planning Meetings as the lead clinician. - When questions or conflict around behavioral paradigm arise in other systems, such as the school (e.g., a review of a behavior paradigm to help the child remain in school), the behavioral specialist consultant may participate in special child-centered, family-focused meetings along with other service providers. - Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner including billable logs, treatment plans and progress notes; data collection, symptom measurement, monitor & report progress on goals. Provides consultation to the family, treatment team, mobile therapist, other service providers and therapeutic staff support in the accurate application of behavioral modification interventions. - Acts as the consultant/instructor to the treatment team on behavior modification - Ability to analyze, interpret, and evaluate clinical records, make clinical recommendations, and formulate treatment service plans and family goals. - Performs other duties as assigned. - Sanctuary- Demonstrate understanding of Sanctuary commitments in all interactions


Job Requirements

Licensed (State Board) psychologist; or other master’s level mental health or mental retardation or drug and alcohol or brain injury clinicians with documented training in-the field of behavior modification techniques. Knowledge of psychotherapeutic modalities, principles and practices, as well as a demonstrated capacity to further develop same. Knowledge of individual, group behavior, and interrelationships between families, social, economic, psychological and physiological factors.


Education Requirements

Licensed (State Board) psychologist; or other master’s level mental health or mental retardation or drug and alcohol or brain injury clinicians with documented training in-the field of behavior modification techniques


Certification Requirements

Valid PA drivers license with good driving record. FBI Act 73, criminal history and Act 33 clearances.
