Job Summary

Provides professional work in the field of clinical psychology.


Job Description

- Selects, administers, and scores a wide range of psychological tests to measure and evaluate cognitive personality structure, interest, aptitudes and related psychological factors. - Attends and participates in all inter and intra Agency Service Director Meetings. - Completes a routine review of Psychological reports. - Employs a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques with a variety of patients or clients. - Conducts and participates in diagnostic and evaluative staff meetings to discuss the diagnosis, etiology, treatment and disposition of patients. - Consults with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, and other professionals, including school systems and social agencies. - Conducts and participates in seminars, in service, and professional training programs, as well as established committees of the Center. - Demonstrates understanding of Sanctuary commitments in all interactions.


Job Requirements

One year of post-doctoral exp in the field of psychology; and a doctoral degree in the field of psychology or educational psychology, including a one-year internship or one year of equivalent supervised exp. Membership in appropriate national, state and local psychological associations. Licensure by the State of PA. Minor in a related field such as speech therapy, remedial reading, disabilities, etc., and certification as a school psychologist is desirable. Thorough knowledge of the principles and methods of psychology involving testing, diagnostic evaluation and psychotherapy. Thorough knowledge of child and developmental psychology. Considerable knowledge of the application of psychology to indiviudal and group behavior. Considerable knowledge of mental retardation, mental health, and mental illness, their symptoms, treatment and social implications.


Education Requirements

Doctoral degree in the field of psychology or educational psychology, including a one-year internship or one year of equivalent supervised exp.


Certification Requirements

Licensure by the State of PA. Valid PA drivers license with good driving record. FBI Act 73, criminal history and Act 33 clearances.
