Mental Health Technician - Part-time



Job Summary

This is a direct Service position at the RTF responsible to foster and maintain a therapeutic atmosphere for the children in the living unit, through consistency, positive role modeling and nurturing.


Job Description

- Responsible for fully comprehending the child's Comprehensive Treatment Plan, to actively assist the child in reaching their planned goals and objectives and to provide all supporting documentation in the child's record. - Assists residents of the RTF in daily activities, responsible to propose, plan and conduct activities for residence in accordance to treatment plan. - Maintain the physical facilities and operation of the program to meet fire, safety, health licensing inspections and other regulations. - Maintains a healthy and safe environment for the residents by the regular completion of the daily schedule as identified in their treatment plans such as but not limited to: Menu planning, food storage/preparation, housekeeping, cooking, laundry, room cleaning, assisting with homework. - Provides one-on-one support as needed. - Schedules and accompanies residents to Dr's appointments and ensure proper medical form is filled out. - Participates in the development of residential service plans with resident, other team members and documents progress each shift. - Participates in all training required by the program and state regulations. - Contacts parents for incidents as needed and documents this. Also notifies appropriate team member of all incidents. - Assist in conducting nightly community meetings. - Handles conflict resolutions and anger management during assigned shifts and with assigned residents. - Completes all assignments designated by Residential Coordinator and/or shift charge. - Participates in fire drills. - Ensures compliance with JACHO and State, Government regulations as pertained to the RTF


Job Requirements

Minimum - High School Degree; prefer Associates degree and 1 year exp in a residential setting & mental health services in a CASSP System. - Demonstrated capacity to develop further knowledge of casework principles, practices and methodology. - Knowledge of the principles and methods of program interpretation and community organization. - Must have the ability to perform safe crisis management which includes therapeutic holding of children in the care of organization. - Must pass a complete physical exam as required by Dept. of Public Welfare Regulations.


Education Requirements

Minimum - High School Degree; prefer Associates degree and 1 year exp in a residential setting & mental health services in a CASSP System+


Certification Requirements

Valid PA drivers license with good driving record. FBI Act 73, criminal history and Act 33 clearances.
