Founded as The Home for Friendless Children, a residence for children displaced by the U.S. Civil War
1929
Renamed as the Children’s Home
1930s
Operated two nationally recognized psychiatric residential homes
1938
Renamed Children’s Service Center of Wyoming Valley Inc.
1968
Started Partial Hospitalization (day treatment)
1970s
Opened Tunkhannock location to serve Wyoming County and surrounding rural communities
2008
Expanded school outreach in Montour, Northumberland, and Snyder counties
2010
Opened Robinson Counseling Center to offer outpatient mental health services for adults
2014
Opened outpatient mental health services in Hazleton
2015
Dedicated new outpatient building in Wilkes-Barre to address broader health needs
2018
Opened outpatient mental health services in Honesdale and the Substance Use Disorders Program in Wilkes-Barre
2021
Implemented national CCBHC model to improve care access in Luzerne and Wyoming counties for underserved populations
2022
Launched integrated mental and physical health services with the opening of Conyngham Primary Health Care Center in Wilkes-Barre
2023
Opened new building on South Pennsylvania Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, to provide care management services, adult psychiatric rehabilitation, and specialized outpatient services for Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, first-episode psychosis, and occupational therapy.
2025
Designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center, Look Alike (FQHC-LAL) by the Health Resources and Services Administration to provide integrated mental and physical health services, and ensure access to care for underserved populations
2026
Opened primary care services (Conyngham Primary Health Care Center) in Tunkhannock to expand access to integrated mental and physical health services to underserved communities
